Question about M3 diff conversion
Im looking to do an M3 diff set up.
For cutting and welding a custom driveshaft, from what I read everyone has to take their own measurements on their car as it varies. Does this mean if I buy an already made set up from someone else's car, there's a chance it won't fit? maybe there's something i'm missing, because I don't really understand how it can vary. Also i'm mainly wanting the LSD to be able to drift. Just street drifting in the mountains, nothing competitive. im open to other diffs. anyone have experience with the various diff options and which is the best for drifting/daily? need something consistent, I wanna be able to pop a quick u turn without it opening up lol. There's 3 different lengths depending on transmission, manual, auto, DCT. The section from the center support back to the diff is the same length regardless of the driveshaft and diff used, it's the front section that is shortened with a M3 diff swap. If you buy one already modded make sure it came from a car with the same tranny as yours. There's enough play that they'll fit despite any small variation in tolerances between vehicles.

No i snapped one of the stock axles and upgraded to the Mfactory. If youre an avid drifter or making over 600 wtq then by all means upgrade them, but the stock axles are pretty strong.
