Instrument cluster swap (to test) question
I am getting a used instrument cluster off ebay to swap out just the lcd screens between the two, as mine has become unreadable.
My question is: If I take my cluster out and put the ebay one in just to check that its lcd screen is ok (before I break it down and render it unreturnable) would all my original data stay the same for my original cluster when I swap them back in after swapping the screens? Another forum member already answered just swapping the lcds (on bench) would not affect the eeprom data but in that post I didn't ask about actually plugging in the ebay cluster in the car before swapping the lcds.
