BMW Windshield Wiper 1% concentration

BMW's official windshield wiper fluid for E92 in California lists on the back to use 25% for type A-areas and 1% for non-Type-A-areas. Most counties are nonType-A as the areas with colder counties are Type A.

@1% the back of the bottle lists 2 oz per 160 oz of water.

Are you Californians doing this? That's very low percentage as almost makes me think why not just use plain distilled water as that's super low.

Not sure if this SDS below is for the concentrate, but that stuff is a joke. 65-75% just ethanol! The other must be blue coloring and possibly just water. LMAO!

I use RainX green (I heard the red can mess up the level sensor).

ECS tuning

simple, OE, cheap, no smell, will not clog washer pump filter, etc

I'm used the rainx in other vehicles and that stuff is awesome! Good to hear that one works for your e92.

That's a simple solution though it looks like that's no longer sold from ecs, fcp, & pelican. Some other vendors claim to have it. That one looks to be a 35% dilution if it's the same recipe as the small concentrate bottle I was mentioning.

I've read that some products can gunk up the reservoir/pump. I just use a generic super market brand since it probably doesn't have anything else that rain-x might.

I just use the cheap blue shit from NAPA/Autozone/Advanced. Never have had an issue. Why is this complicated?

Hah, wow! I had no idea even washer fluid was regulated by CARB:

https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/our-work/prog...ons/windshield

Anyway, since it's a CARB thing and not a BMW thing, I'd just use whatever's available while avoiding stuff like RainX, as the additives can potentially foul the washer fluid sensor or clog the jets.

I run washer fluid in the methanol injection on my other vehicles. You can check the SDS and verify that it only contains water and methanol. The -35C stuff is typically ~40% methanol.

I have used these tablets from Amazon for probably a decade.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

No issues with clogs or failed sensor on any of my cars. The problem is though that last time I ordere them they were $5.33 and now they are literally 3x that price. RIDICULOUS!! luckily I still have half a tube of them in the garage.
