2013 335is wont crank - Help with codes 2e7f, cd9d, cd9e, cdb0, cdb4, cdc3

Hi guys.

2013 BMW 335is with the DCT.

Car was running just fine a day ago. Today I try to start it and it wont even crank. The yellow transmission gear pops up on the dash and I pull the codes:

> 2E7F - DME: EGS via PT-CAN2 and PT-CAN.
> CD9D - Message (transmission data, 0xBA) incorrect,
> receiver ME, transmitter EGS/HIM/SMG/DCT.
> CD9E - Message (transmission data 2, 0x1A2) incorrect,
> receiver ME, transmitter EGS/SMG/DCT.
> CDBO - Message error (display, transmission data,
> 0x1 D2), DME receiver, ETC / HIM / SMG / DCT
> transmitter.
> CDB4 - Message (transmission data, 0x3B1) incorrect,
> receiver ME, transmitter EGS/SMG/DCT.
> CDC3 - Message (status, DCT, 0x37D) incorrect,
> receiver ME, transmitter DSC/DCT.

My guess is a loose wire somewhere? I did have a problem with a rodent biting into my parking sensor wires, which I replaced.

Has anyone run into this problem? Car drove perfect a day ago and no work has been done on it recently.

Thanks!

-edit: Battery was replaced last year. I just visually inspected it and there is no signs of anything wrong with it.

According to this it was his TCU module:

Same codes for TCU here too I would probably start by checking that

Thanks, I'll look into the TCU.

Also I'd like to add that the last time I drove it, I used the dome lights after about 30 mins with the engine off. The battery reads at 12.1v now with the car off. I know these cars do all sorts of weird things when the batteries are low. I'm going to try to charge it in Autozone tomorrow.

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post an update in case anyone has these codes.

It ended up being the cable that connects the transmission to the ECU. Rodents bit into it destroyed it so it had to be repaired.

After the repair everything worked perfectly.

Hi, I'm having a similar issue. Can you be more specific on the location and what cable you had to repair? What transmission does it have? The ZF?

Thanks
