True coil over conversion

I was looking for new coil overs for my e93 and I came across a true coil over conversion. I was wondering if anyone has tried them and how they ride and if anything is needed to be done to the car to run them

Garage List
Are you referring to the switch from spring/struts to coilovers, or a full coilover conversion where the rear spring is no longer separate? Either way, there is a Suspension / Chassis subforum for these questions.

It has been done though not sure if it has on an e93 or what the implications of that might be.

There are really no benefits for a street car. You'd need to reinforce the shock mounts to handle the load of the springs.

The reason some racers do this is they can get a higher wheel ratio without having to go to insanely stiff springs that can cause the subframe to pull away from the body.

It's a cool concept but really not worth it if you don't need crazy high rates
