Regular or Matte PPF
Long story (TLDR below):
One day I told my wife, who got her driver's license many years ago, but only recently started to actually drive: "never go to that street in the back of our girl's kindergarten. It's too narrow. Cars park on both sides, and you are driving a Series 5." So last Tuesday she decided she would prove herself worth, but she couldn't lift the Mjolnir: side collision. After "successfully" passing between two cars, she decided to corner a little bit. She didn't know the rear wheels will not always follow the same trajectory as the front wheels. TLDR: wife scratched the side of my Series 5 really bad. Front and back door, aluminium as you guys probably know. Rear fender. I already made up my mind: will not repaint the whole three parts. Will go with touch-up for the doors, and touch-up plus some blending on the larger damage in the fender (5x1 cm). Reason is simple: resell value and keeping the original painting as much as I can. Now: knowing that touch-up is never perfect, I ask you guys: will applying PPF help hiding the defects? And what about Matte? Will it hide it even better or worse? |
