Need some advice for nasty stone chips!
Noticed some chips at the front part of the roof and on the door beside the roof.
I have never detailed before, but going to start now. Looked at a lot of resources online, but I can't tell if these are down to metal or primer? Those with much more experienced eyes, please help! Thank you!! And what do you think of my general approach? Chip 1 - left part same approach as chip 5. Right part just add paint + clear cloat? Chip 2 - Right chip, same approach as chip 1. Left chip not sure what to do here... Chip 3 - Just add clear coat? Chip 4 - Sand with 1500 paper, then pick away with fiberglass picking tool, then rust treat, primer, paint, clearcoat? Chip 5 - Looks like down to metal to me. Thinking of exposing the metal to the right side where it's raised, so I get a uniform surface to work on. Then, primer -> 2-3 coats of paint -> 2-3 coats clear coat to top it off. Then wet sand with 1500, 2000, 3000 -> compound + polish. Not sure what primer to use. Do I even need primer for these small chips? Last edited by BagandTag; Yesterday at 06:08 AM.. Reason: added images |
