RBs are available. Have been around for a while and well proven. None of the Vargas turbos have started shipping yet AFAIK.

Stage 2 is suppose to be comparable to RBs. Stage 3 are larger twin upgrades. Vargas is just now shipping out the beta stage 2s and tuning the stage 3. No known numbers have been released yet. For more info, just search. I did before taking the gamble on stage 2s.

Vargas is well known in the states no? They do many turbo applications.
Soooo...proven or not I'm sure the stage 2's will likely be as good as the RB's and the stage 3's are going to be epic. |

Yes they right up to humongous industrial turbos as big as a 335. Vargas is talking about publishing numbers around this coming Tuesday with a COBB based tune

I've been following the Vargas stuff closely and i believe they are really going to be a SOLID product.
Stage 2s are hybrids equivalent to the RBs(which is definitely a compliment) they just have a few little variations to help improve reliability under heavy boost. Stage 3s is a full on kit based around GTx28 turbos that are going be able to makee some serious power. IIRC the turbos on the prototype setup can flow something like 850hp worth of air. Best of all, it WON'T be tied to any one single tune.

Meh, that probably has little or nothing to do with the turbo upgrades/setup. Just about any turbo running piston seals and no cats is going to see some occasional oil smoke.

Until we see some numbers for the stage 2s it's hard to recommend them over the RBs, realistically though they should perform the same or even better. This coming week the stage 2s should ship and then numbers should follow a couple weeks after. I'm pretty anxiously awaiting results because i'm debating the same decision you are lol

What everyone is saying here is correct. RB's are a proven product and have shown to make great power improvements. Our stage 2's are similar with some differences. But use the same size compressor wheel. Stage 3 is on the road now and tuning. Should have 91 numbers next week on stage 3. Stage 2's are shipping Monday to get our initial numbers, so we should have some soon. Thanks for the question and interest.

This is amazing that there has been input from both Vishnu and vargas, and they haven't acted like typical vendors and slagged out their competition by saying mine is better then their because of....
Nice to see a forum full of mature vendors showing some respect for each other ![]() |

I am in the market for new turbos, i am not looking for >600 break the tranny power, just want a set i can run with stock DME and cobb aggressive boost levels up to redline without tapering, maybe 500 to the wheels max.
wanted to make sure the turbos a more reliable than OEM as well. i can wait a bit for VARGAS, they sound promising, dont know maybe feel like tony will improve on the lessons learned from whats been out there. i there is a group buy on them with a discount go ahead put me first on the list and PM me. i have a feeling many others are watching VARGAS and waiting to jump on the bandwagon. |

On a dynojet RBs and the VTT stage 2s should be able to accomplish ~500whp on methanol without much problem. Neither will be able to hold 18psi all the way to redline and last though, but you won't need to to hit the ~500whp mark.

RB's and V Stage 2 will be similar. The tuning will really bring out the power in those turbo options.
Stage 3 is aftermarket twins. It will be interesting to see what they put out. |
