So I decided to install the M Performance Carbon Fibre Interior in my 2022 M240i G42 and did a quick installation video for anyone looking to do the upgrade themselves.

There are 2 members who replaced the shift knob and now have a damaged center console, obviously it went fine for you. Did you wait for sleep mode and disconnect the battery before replacing?

Wow, why isn't this an option direct from the factory?! I prefer this much more than the other 2 options. Well done!

It was available as a port installed option back in April/May before they removed it.

I installed it myself as per these instructions. It was a very simple install.

The only caveat was that MP gear lever. It fried my entire center controller unit. I won't be able to get a replacement until the 18th, so I took delivery on the 29th, had the car for 2 days, and I've haven't had it since. I'd skip that knob.

I just did mine, the 2 clip along the cup holder were tough. The screw driver idea as suggest was not the wat to go, try to pry the cup holder plastic aways from the clips vs the clips away from the cup holder. The plastic was way to soft for metal tools.
