Who has done lowering springs (especially Eibach's)
I purchased a set of Eibach Pro Kit Springs as they are the only company that seems to make a set specific for the E93 - just spent an hour and a half putting on one of the fronts, got it all back together, went around the block and parked it back in the garage. Kit is supposed to give me 1.2 inches lower in the front and 0.6 in the back - took a look after my ride and it looks about the same, measured it and it is exactly the same if not actually 1/16" higher on the Eibach side - double checked I actually put in the right spring, double checked everything was assembled correctly etc.
Anybody every put these or other springs in and find they take a while to settle or should I see the results right away. 1.2" lower should drop me to almost no fender gap and so far nada - I am going to be super pissed if I did all that work for absolutely nothing!! Mods feel free to move this to suspension, just thought I would get more reads in General.

I will get more replies here, most people don't normally read the suspension forum, but usually read the General one.

Please post an update after they have a day to settle... that does seem odd to me. I'm about the pull the trigger on the ProKit/FSD combo and would appreciate hearing what you find.

give it time and they will settle some more. The drop isnt instantly dramatic.. when I put in some H&R OE Springs on my 325i I was disappointed with the drop.. a month later it was just right and then I started eating tires.. make sure u get an alignment...

Any car that you lift will gradually come down over a period.
I have mine same as you but "to almost no fender gap" is a stretch. IIRC, SP on sedan is 5/8" lower so yes, the car will look lower. H&R are more aggressive (available on E90) but ride can be harsh as reported, and this is why I chose Eibach. No regret here! |

Sometimes the drop does take a few days of driving. Just make sure the spring is seeted correctly into the cup. It has a positive stop for the end of the spring not to twist. Did yo say you put ONE on and drove it around the block? Wow.

Give it a week, or at least a month and you'll notice the drop.

Give it a week or 2 (max) of driving. I had almost the same response as you did, but things came together a couple of days after and I'm quite pleased with the results.
Don't forget to follow up with an alignment job after 2 weeks (just to be thorough).

Update - looks better this morning - has come down about 3/4" which looks good - have about the same gap now front and rear (with the stock rears). Going to see how much more it comes down before I put in the rears - they only claim 0.6" drop in the rear, so we will see how it ends up after a few weeks and if I need.
Thanks for all the responses!

I'm thinking of getting my e93 dropped as well. I have previous experience lowering hondas and those would eat tires no matter if you got them aligned because the camber was off. If I lower my e93 would an alignment bring it back to factory spec or will it still be off a little and cause premature wear?

My car is on Eibach springs with 20" rims. It should take no more than a week for the springs to settle.

I recently installed the Eibachs on my e90. I had the sport suspension, and the Eibachs lowered it another 1/2 an inch. These photos show how it sits...you can see more of them in the Photo/Media Gallery under "My Photo Obsession". Did you remove the rubber cup(bushing) at the top and bottom? That is all I can think of. They settle a little after a couple of days, but I could see the drop as soon as we got it off the lift.
