Has anyone done this? What would be the effects of simply adding the performance springs for a lowered look on the bmw sport suspension?

I think youd be better off with Eibach Pro Kit. Its a tad lower but has similar spring rate (according to suspension guide) to the ZSP springs. The BMW Perf has higher spring rates and you might not have enough damping for them.

Anyone elses thoughts?

So far so good, lowered the car by a half inch, but no more than that. I could have done with a bit lower, but I knew what I was getting, only a half inch. The look is definitely improved, but the ride quality and improvement is phenomenal. The steering response is improved, the ride is not harsh at all. The first thing Inoticed was that when backing out of a driveway the car didnty "bounce" at all. Stiff, firm, but not harsh at all. I LOVE it, highly suggest doing it. I will update again after a few days/weeks of driving, but if you are considering it, do it, I am glad I did. Dont expect it to be any lower than half an inch though.

Did you only do the springs?
I thought about doing the whole kit, but I'm torn between the kit and the M3 parts.
If the Performance springs are worthwhile, I may do the M3 kit with just the springs. I don't need any further drop, I have the M sport, it's actually fairly low already.

I did the kit and just the M3 arms front and back. Great street set up.

I guess there is a big difference when you go from non-sport to performance but sport-performance might simply not be worth the cost.

Sport to performance is still a big difference. The springs are 34% stiffer. I do not know the specs on the shocks and struts, but I imagine they are better as well.

"The suspension remains compliant enough for daily driving over the pothole filled roads of the North East while also providing more substantial cornering ability over the stock setup. The suspension seems to push back as hard as you push it, there is still some body roll but it is much decreased compared to a standard factory fresh car. The spring rate is 48% stiffer than the base stock suspension and 34% stiffer than the factory Sport suspension. The spring travel for the front axle is 26 mm and 12mm for the rear, which greatly reduces body roll in combination with the thicker sway bars. The 25 mm drop with this setup also helps alleviate some of the unwanted wheel gap the stock car is known for (10 mm compared to the factory sport suspension). "

Thought would be to go with the HR touring kit for $700, and slightly lower stance. I dont see too many posts on the touring kits (HR sport spring, and matched shock)

I was thinking about doing the same, but I have 45k miles on the clock. I dont know if that would affect the longevity of the shocks.

If you are going to mod your suspension, go with a matched system.

Thanks for the update scott. Are you talking about the performance suspension as a whole or just the performance springs in junction with the sport suspension when talking about that it remains compliant enough for daily driving?

Since Tischer has the whole kit for $1200, I would not even think of getting just the springs. Why not also get the shocks, struts, and sway bar that were all designed to work together if you are going to the labor to swap springs anyway?

Excellent. I hope to have mine installed very soon. I'm also an E92 going from sport to performance. It was either that or I was going to do Dinan S2 and that would have been another $1000. Too far out of my price range.
