When your car first cold starts, the idle is higher. Then it will drop after about 45 seconds. If it stays up after that you need to scan for codes. Is the belt squeaking?

I dont see any code errors if i try to look in vehicle info , it says all sytems are ok. And the RPM's stay at 11K even after 1 minute or so, and i dont hear any belt squeaking either.

Also the idle RPMs could have been coded to what you're seeing but either way you're going to need some specialty hardware and software to figure out what exactly the issue is. I recommend an Indy. |

[QUOTE=Scan for codes. You'll need to get a code reader or go to an Indy where they could scan them for you. This thread prompted me to go out and start my engine just to see what it would do, especially as I have exactly the same vehicle as the OP, and I too just got mine last month.
FWIW, I cold-started up around 850 RPM and then dropped down to about 700 after around 40 seconds. This was in neutral, and I left the car parked at a declining angle in my driveway, guessing that would not skew engine revving. Anyway, if my idle is typical, then 1100 RPM sounds a bit high, especially if there's no subsequent rev dip. Good luck. |
