Euro vs NA Suspension?

Is it just my mind playing me or are indeed euro cars a little bit lower than NA cars stock with standard suspension? Seems like the gap on a lot of the US E90's is bigger, even though most of them are equipped with 18's.

Been searching (which I'm not very good at ) but haven't found anything on this. Looking forward to an answer if this is the case.

Here's my Non-ZSP 325i with 16" 205/55 tyres for a comparison.

It's a stupid question, I know - I guess you could call me a extreme newb on this.

Better to get the facts instead of guessing all the time. 4x4 is what you refer to as inches am I correct?

I know that some european models get different springs but I don't think it's going on with the 3 series.
I've seen on the M3 forums that the Japanese M3s are a bit lower than the US M3s though.

I don't think so. People in Germany could tell immediately that I had the sport suspension because it set lower (15mm) than stock. US cars may have been lower in the past, but doesn't seem to be an issue with the e90.

Yeah, obviously that seems to be the case.

So US-spec cars used to be higher in the past. Not seeing that it makes any difference, but I guess that would explain Deuce here losing his balls over this thread.

I don't think Deuce was trying to disrespect. I think he was trying to figure out, based on your car picture, how you thought the ride on a Euro is lower. That car has a big gap between the tire and the fender, hence the 4x4 comment. Maybe he didn't realize you were rolling on 16s.

Many years ago, some US spec cars sat higher because of bumper height regulations (easily fixed aftermarket). These days German regulations are more strict in many ways (specifically pedestrian impact requirements that lead to the blunt nose look we have come to see in recent years for all German cars).

No disrespect here. Still got my balls too. The 16's don't help much but the outside diameter of a 16 or 18 should be the same and the gap in your photo is enormous

All I wanted to know was whether there's any difference between the specs in stock form.

Apparently, I must have offended you by thinking Euro cars are lower. Otherwise, people usually reply in a well-mannered way. Maybe that's the way you are over here.

You're saying the diameter should be the same? I'm planning on buying a set of 18" V710's as I feel the 19's are too much for the road conditions over here. I'm not sure what it would look like without a small drop though. Was planning to purchasing the wheels first to see how it turns out, and lower it slightly if I felt the need to.

Would it still be comfortably driveable during winter on an Eibach Pro-System or say H&R Cup-kit?

Well, thank you for the passive aggressive insult.

And look into "plus sizing"; it'll explain the diameter. Also, there are hundreds of pics of E9X's with the wheels that you are interested in buying with and without a drop.
