Alot of things to name... LOL@ boost controller. I never really tell people to search but in this case it might be best to get the complete info you are looking for. Or visit N54tech.com to get more info on the JB3.

Start naming alot of things. Three more signals other than the TMAP is not alot IMO.

To the OP:

B1S1 and B2S1 O2 Sensor Biasing for fuel adjustments
TMAP for basic boost control
Boost Control Solenoids pulse width can be extended for extra boost
Fuel Pressure signal is adjusted for suplemental fueling

He asked what changes when you switch maps?

There is alot to it to explain exactly what goes on and how it works like adaption, and what changes with adaption and or whats exactly adapts and what controls what when the JB3 alters these, but adaption and jb3 altering FURTHER signals for the specific higher map//boost is basically what changes when you switch maps, might be more to it but from what i know that is it in brief.

There is alot of good info around here and N54tech that has covered alot of this and explains most of it. Besides all the mini wars within them.

What the JB3 controls is a different question... That also has been covered alot.

Functionally, it's a rpm/tps/iat dependant boost controller that also biases the wideband o2 sensors and adjusts fuel pressure.

So it adjusts boost and fuel delivery.

yes, i definatly know there is a huge power difference. it was once again proven by my trip to the dealer by taking it out and putting it back in (only runing map 3), my boost guage wend from just under 8 without it, to about 13ish, both are peak numbers and then the boost falls with rpm (damn small turboes? or internal wastegates?). and the lagfix is DEFINATLY noticeable as well. i love the JB3 just wanted to make sure i was getting additional fuel to feed that extra boost.

The best to find out what JB3 does, is to ask Terry! On this forum you'll only hear what it doesn't do.

The idea is that those signals mentioned are altered differently with the different maps. Ideally, things should be done so as to not to affect adaptation channels. For power delivery you have fuel and timing adaptation. All tunes seem to keep fuel adaptation paramters (STFT and LTFT) close to 0%.

The only significant adaptation is with timing advance. So, yes, a change in map selection will eventually cause a change in timing adaptation; higher maps will inevitably cause a reduction in ignition advance through adaptation or a switch to a lower octane map.

I thought Shiv wasn't allowed to post in any other JB3 threads, and Mike wasn't allowed to post in any Procede threads.

The JB3 changes space and time, as well as produces Ozone that repairs our atmosphere

I heard also that when on map 9 it keeps ghosts away!

I believe they did, but in the near future we'll be able to sift through other peoples garbage and then dump it into the little processor on top of our engines.
