Not sure but it is a bugger to insure, I was looking at one after my M3 and it was more money than that!

M3 was around £650, the D3 was coming in at over £800 at the cheapest and that was with Swift who I am not a fan of, and in the end we got a 320d m-sport that was £320.

Not sure why it comes in so high? I think they treat more like a modded BMW than a marque in its own right.

Well yeah, but they are a manufacturer and not a tuner like Hartge or AC Schnitzer etc.

I would have said they were tuners, after all they tune standard cars, they don't make them.

Got a quote in a d3 when I was looking at them back in march... Came in around the same as my 325d

Sure you don't mean a b3??

In answer to the op though I believe they are group 17 or 18, although i was contracting for an insurer around the time I was looking at these and had access to the proper codes.. These did actually come up blank, as did a lot of other 'rarer' cars..

Weird

No, was the D3. Although this was 2007, things might have changed since then to be fair.
