Hi there, ive been reading and reading about trying to activate 6NR Bmw apps / connected drive on e90 cic / combox combination and no matter where you go every one is quiet on this subject.

ive read you have the following options:

1. Script activate the CIC to activate all the features without an FSC (may have issues updating the maps) - problem is with this is I cant find much info regarding this script.

2. Purchase a BMW Apps FSC from BMW, But with this option the general public still cant import and activate the fsc.

3. Use an hardware activator (like a retrofitted CIC) and get a complete FSC repair kit for a VIN with BMW Apps. Change the CIC VIN and load all the FSCs from the repair kit. But again as number 2. we still cant load the fsc into the cic and that's if we manage to get hold of the repair fsc kits.

4. downgrade cic software - Not seen one post of someone actualy doing this

so is this a dead subject? am I wasting my time even looking ?

ok thanks for that...I have a programme which I think is fake or needs a certificate like you say...

its called cic special service utility.

CIC special service utility is from Bimmerretrofit and was leaked out to public which I am sure they are not happy about.. It does require a certificate but there are copies out there that are hacked. I am not sure if it will 100% upload a full repair pack of FSC codes.

ok so ive used this software and clicked connect, it reads the vin of my car and also the vin from the cic. It also knows there is a hardware activation module.

ive tried reading the 001b fsc and it seemed to read it ok , i then saved it but im not sure what it supposed to look like.

looks like a lot of them floating about will not write fsc anyway

01 FSC ultimately is .der .FSC .cer files and one other i can't remember in a .zip.

I bought FSC and I still can't upload it so let me know if you get CIC working.

just to let every one know , after a couple of weeks messing around and emailing a lot of folks, I eventualy got the job done...

patryk @ bimmertech got the BMW apps working for me.....

I didn't actualy see what was done due to nothing happening onscreen my end, but I think he used a new vin and repair FSCs for a vehicle which had apps

so I now have retrofitted cic + combox + 6FL + 6NF + 6NR + BMW apps in my 2006 E90

With an emulator cic retrofit I can also get it working too!

you never said or asked what I had /wanted....

I assumed you couldn't do it as you said find someone local to do it...

plus ive emailed a few folks and asked on other forums , and not 1 person has come forward and said they will do it....

I tried bimmer retrofit but they seem expensive for this service.....

so I went to patryk as I knew he could do it but was a bit hesitant due to a few folks having problems getting in touch with him...

after speaking to him for 10 mins on Skype he got his colleague to do his stuff and voila , all done....
