Im interested. Is it plug and play or will I need parts to install it?

When you say "a harness", do you mean a harness that will mate it to an e90 or the OEM M5 harness?

Ok just found out it's not a plug n play if installed it will only light up... But in order for the knob to light up correctly with the correct gear ur in it will need a harness or u can make one ur self....

Cool mod. Waiting on random pins/wires to come in so I can retrofit the M3 DCT knob I've got laying around...

All the connectors are already there--if it doesn't light up correctly (i.e. with each shift/N/R) all someone would need to do is take off all the electrical tape, rearrange some of the wires as drawn up in the DIY, and shrink tube the resulting harness. May not even need to buy anything.
