X1 - Question
So my car is in for service and my loaner for the day is an X1 sDrive SE 2.0d
It's a bit like driving an armchair but even though it drives OK, is good on fuel and has a decent level of kit I have one question for BMW: WHY? |

In the right colour (dark or dary grey) with the right alloys (blade I think) I don't think it looks too bad. I keep considering one as a replacement for the X3 but don't think it's big enough for us. Hasn't Creepy Coupe got one??
To answer your question 'why', mmm, not sure really. It is a bit of an off one. I suppose it's just aimed at someone who needs more space than a 1 offers but can't stretch to a 3 series touring or X3. Isn't really necessary in my book. The 3 series touring offers a wider load area, but not as high, whereas the X1 is tall but narrow. The X3 is the daddy (ignoring the X5 for a minute). The higher seating position is nice though. I'd probably prefer the A3 sportback (if that's it's name).

Dont worry... think its a trait of BMW's of late... my 520d drives like an armchair as well.
'Oh corner ... hello where did u come from? .... lets lean more... and a bit more..... there we go'. BMW are gonna redress the prob from september though - giving the dynamic driving pack for free .... lucky mine goes back when i switch jobs.

Really unnerved me. After all, it's not as if I am not used to a reasonable amount of power going to the back wheels is it? |
