I would. You never know what assumptions they're making. Proper rock and a hard place call. Tell the thieving so and so's and risk your premium going up. Don't tell the thieving so and so's and risk no cover after a total loss.

This is what I thought. Although I can't for the life of me see how putting proper tyres on my car makes it more of a risk to insure, only in that thieves may prefer it to other BMW's due to a better ride quality?
If anything it makes it less of a risk to insure as I'm less likely to bounce off into a field driving down a B road. |

The subject of a letter in Auto Express recently. The answer from their 'expert' was that provided they meet the same spec for speed, load and size, no need to tell them.

Normally on a change to non RFTs, the insurance company is only interested in the correct load/speed ratings being fitted. May be more concerned if changing rims to a non OEM fitment.
