You're going to get a variety of opinions on this. Here's mine: no. Anything you try to do yourself will look horrible. If you want it back to how it looked before the incident, you will need to have the bumper cover removed, repaired and repainted by a professional. And that's going to set you back about $1,000.

This looks to be more than a "respray." It's going to be a "repair" and that means removing the piece, refinishing it, repainting it and reinstalling it. All that amounts to time and the associated labor costs. And this is California, worse yet, Southern California, where things tend to be more expensive.

Maybe there and in other areas it does. If that car is taken to a BMW collision center in the SF Bay Area or in SoCal it will cost about $1000 to repair and repaint that bumper.

$500 from BMW collision here in NY.. i have had it done..any more than that you are getting taken...price fluctuations for body work are not that extreme..n both NY and SF are high dollar markets

You can get done all day long for @500 that's about a 5 hour job total. I don't care where you live only cavaet is not BMW center, go indy body shop. Besides I can't think of a BMW center near me in SoCal with a body shop??
