I tried looking my problem up, but I couldn't find any answer.

The lock on my rear passenger door, I drive an 06 e90, is not responsive to remote commands. Neither my fob or the central locking system are able to lock or unlock the door. I can however manually lock it (by pressing the black knob down) or manually unlock it (opening the door using the handle from the inside). I also noticed that the locking mechanism would try to respond to my fob commands but fail, through a little twitch the black knob would make whenever I tried to lock/unlock it. I'm quite unsure what the problem is, but am rather disappointed, as I am not only out of my warranty, but I just had a full checkup for my car, with some work done totaling over a grand. The ultimate driving machine sure requires a lot of upkeep.

If anyone has any idea about what this problem is, I would greatly appreciate any help. Will I have to take it to the dealer? And more importantly, is it going to cost me a lot?
