Screen not turning off

Hi all, for some reason my screen seems to be stuck on the BMW logo even when I lock the car with the keyfob.

If I switch on the car I can use the idrive as normal.

Is there a way to reset this?

This happened to me the same time as the volume control failed to do anything. The volume is essentially a software control too.
I cured the software lockup by removing the key and removing the battery terminal in the boot for a half hour.
You will probably have to reset back to 'UK' and do the clock etc, but thats all that is affected by trying this.
