Converting Xenons for the continent
Hi,
Have searched but cannot find answer. On previous xenon headlight fitted cars I was able to 'flick' a switch on each xenon headlight which operated a shutter to prevent dazzle when driving on RHS on continental Europe. Didn't need sticky pieces of paper on headlights. Cannot find out if I am able to do this on my 2010 325d. Car also has adaptive headlights which probably make it more complex. Would adaptive headlights also prevent me using paper templates? In other words what are my options for preparing the car for driving in France please? David |

You can see the levers here on a pre lci non adaptive car
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520281 On the last car I had with adaptive (an x5) you could turn off the adaptive function on the light switch - this allows you to fit stickers. Yours should be the same.

Thanks for for that - I don't know how the search didn't come up with this
Unless I can find a lever through the access panels (if with LCI they have improved the access!), then I shall deactivate the adaptive headlights as you most helpfully indicated and use masks. I have checked the handbook and one uses the normal fully clockwise headlight switch position to deactivate all the headlight extras David |
