I'm going to be purchasing a set of 18" rims that I'll be daily driving and using regularly for AutoX, are there any wheels that you've found to look good, handle the stress of autocrossing (saw an Enkei split in half on Sunday), and weigh less than the OEM 189s?

Also, will an 18x9 F and 18x9.5 rear still allow me to rotate the car easily? I am leaning towards that combination with the Apex Arc-8 so that I can get the concave look in the rear Can we run the 18x9 Arc-8s up front without clearance issues with coilovers (AST 4100)?

The strong wheel choice when cost is a factor is to run 4 rear 189s. I'd rather save money and the worry of soft wheels in exchange for a little weight.

Yeah, it happened in front of the station I was working and I snapped a quick pic. You can see (turn up your monitor brightness) the inner portion of the wheel is gone, the brake caliper also came off completely... Ack!

Im running a 18x9 +32 square setup with 245 AD08's.

FWIW, to fit a 18x9 with a 245 or wider tire up front on my e92, i needed at the minimum a +33 offset. My wheels originally were a +35 and they were hitting the strut so i threw on a 3mm spacer to clear my coilovers (TCKline DA with swift springs, similar to your AST's).

I've heard good things about the Apex's as a relatively cheap track rim.

Which wheels are you using with 18x9 +35?

do you have camber plates up front?

Im doing 18x9 on 265s and they work fine. et is 27 but im doing -3.2 camber. Im sure you can easily do 255s with less camber.

Im running GC race plates up front. I'm only at -2.3 up front, planning on getting it right around -2.8 soon. I run AD08's which run super wide so i was scared of trying to fit a 255 AD08 up front (which would equal to a regular 265).

Did you run into any strut side issues? im not sure with 255 or 265's up front if i'll need a bigger spacer to clear since im only at et32.

Yes, youll definately need larger spacer. Im running z1 starspecs and can do et32 but its very close and its hard to tell what kinda roll over youll get on the track. You can def fit at least a 255 in front but youll have to play with offset to get the right amount (as close to the strut as possible without rubbing).

Want to hear something funny? I split an Enkei as well. Literally, split it in half. Fortunately, nothing mechanical on the car broke, but what the fuck.

Now I need suggestions for a 18" square setup. Do y'all figure 18x9 ET35 would work for an 'xi', maybe with 245/40-18 rubber (or something like that)?

One of my rear RPF1's straight up came off the car at 80mph on the freeway and snapped all 5 lug bolts in the process. Luckily the wheel was held "in" by my fender so i slowly made my way to the side of the freeway and stopped. Till this day im still not sure wtf happened.

i just managed to fit 18x9.5 square with 265 rs3s square . Tested at the track, no rubbing. Front was overall et30. The hankook rs3s are super wide.... theyre basically 275s.. The ARC8s look awesome square at 9.5 since theyre all concave

im curious as well what is the optimal square setup for this car 9 all around 255's im not lowered just perches in the front
