No additional mods needed
Finally no negative comments from Terry. Terry, Shiv could you two at least agree that the above model needs no further backcats, piggy backs, downpipes, ecu upgades and that her twin turbos are perfectly sized? I do think she needs a few good beta testers. Any volunteers? Shiv says that a boost gauge is not required for this test. Terry feel free to post her schematics. |

Well, tell me s/t about turbo lag, I got 2 Saab 9000 Aero's. On my first one, when the turbo messed up, it took ages to spool it up, but hey, when it finally did...
Actually I dont know anything like "unpredictable power". Now that's bullshit. U have a turboed car under your ass, so drive it, LEARN to drive it, get to know it, and the power will not surprise U under any circumstances. Actually U'll expect the power to come in every moment U drive, even downshifting in front of a curve, U have to feel it. I actually like to drive sporty, that's why I got 2 Aeros and gonna get the 335i. I expect it will need some time to get used to it, especially after those 2 lovely beasts I drive now, but I'm sure there is no turbo lag which should be counted with, and also there will be nothing like "unpredictable power". The first is a question of the car's engine design, the second is simply a question of a driver. |

All things being equal, smooth, progressive power curves are easier to drive. Engines with an "on-off" power switch are a pain to control. You are either spinning rubber while you have the engine on the cam at high revs, or bogging down with zilch power. I love the way you can adjust the amount of tire spin on the 335 like it's on a rheostat. Start up a little spin in a nice corner, hold it for a while, then apply a bit more right foot, and you get more spin.... ease off, and a little less spin. I have never had a car with such controllable power. This thing is going to be a monster drifter for amateurs once there is a high-volume source for LSDs.
