BMW Perfromance Exhaust - 335i

Has anyone upgraded to this?

Opinions and thoughts?

I have heard they sound amazing but have never seen or heard a 335i with it fitted.

Also does anyone have an idea of cost to buy and to fit?

Thanks

I have one, and yes they do sound amazing

I bought one second hand from this forum for £550 and it was easy to fit, took about an hour. This was for the previous part number (ends in 633) which doesn't include the centre section.
They now come with the centre section and will cost you circa £1200 from a dealer. As it now has the centre section, I think it needs a weld??

From what I hear, the latest one isn't quite as loud but still sounds very good. I think they possibly changed it for an EU regulation or something, although this could be complete b0110cks.

Get one, you won't regret it and you won't have any warranty issues.

Any idea on dealer costs to fit them on top of the £1200?!

Your car sounds amazing from reading the description on your signature......any pics?

I reckon you could probably negotiate getting it supplied and fitted for that sort of money. I think the list price is £1350, but I read somewhere that somebody had it supplied and fitted for circa £1200.

These are pre performance exhaust pics. The perf exhaust sits a bit lower. Although it has the same diameter tailpipes, they look bigger because the internal diameter is bigger (about 15mm). I will try to post some new exhaust pics tomorrow.

Next mod will be the performance rear diffuser and I have a spoiler that I haven't stuck on yet.

That is one sharp looking motor.........would love to see the pics with the performance exhausts fitted.

What is the performance diffuser like on the e92?

I had the performance carbon fibre one on my e46, but I understand they dont do one for the e92.

Not sold on the spoilers though I must admit.

I might of dreamt this, but I am sure someone posted on here from a dealerships saying they would give a 10-15% on the exhausts.

Hi,

I had mine fitted to my LCI e91 at my local dealer. They fitted FoC and knocked abt 10% off on the basis that they could use my car for demos for a couple of days.

Believe they sold 3 or 4 systems since so win win.

Sounds great so go for it......

Here you go, pics of the PE

Just to add, you will find that your radio becomes redundant and you will be driving around with your window open all of the time

This shows that the diameter is still 3 1/4 inches but the internal diameter is bigger than OEM because of the thin walls.

This shows that it sits a bit lower than OEM and the chrome is a lot brighter.

Given the choice and if it wasn't silly money I'd go for this diffuser.

Garage List
I actually prefer the look of the OE tailpipes... the performance ones look a bit flimsy.

Best ones I've seen are (I think) 4". Someone posted a picture a little while back - IIRC it was by Hartge or one of the other big names.

SSDD Motorsports sell the BMW performance spoiler (Well, a replica of it) much cheaper than OE and fitment is reasonable from what I've seen. Worth a try?

That performance exhaust posted above. I'd not be happy with fitment of that. It's obvious it should be a good inch higher. I wouldn't have accepted it like that.

Not that I'm doubting it must sound superb

Is that the BMW Performance one?

I have inquired and the cost for the BMW Performance one is circa £300 painted.

You're right about the height, it was a DIY fitting, but it only fits one way with the existing hangers.
I'll probably have those tips cut off and replaced with 4" ones soon, then I'll get them to look at lifting it up a bit.

The sound is pretty awesome, but classy (not like a Maxpower reject). When I pass people in the street, I notice a lot of people turn around to see what the car is

It is the performance one, and £300 painted doesn't sound bad at all. Hmmm...I think It could be next on the list.

if you look at any pics of the perf exhaust they all hang lower than the standard one there really is not much adjustment on them

Maybe I could get some smaller rubbers to lift it a bit. I'll enquire at the exhaust centre.

Not knocking the job you did fitting it, you did a splendid job
