Really linear?

I'm looking at the graphs posted showing the throttle maps.
Is it me, or is the linear map actually back to front?
My interpretation of that graph is that the further you press the pedal, the LESS effect it has on throttle. Maybe this is something to do with the effect of boost?

If it was an NA engine, I would expect linear to be;

at low revs: the further you press the pedal, the more effect it has on throttle
at medium revs: same as low, but a less extreme curve
at high revs: 1:1 between pedal and throttle position.

My interpretation of linear is; x% of pedal position == x% of torque available at those revs.

It should be possible to tune for this using a dyno and measuring the TQ curve at different throttle percentages. The stock throttle looks like it is tunes to some TQ targets, although a different engine map might throw that off, and the TQ target is probably not linear. The Cobb linear map just looks like someone drew a curve and tried it.

Here's what my own linear throttle looks like for my other NA car:

Since I don't have a dyno, I did just draw a curve and try it. Actually I tried several before settling on this.

I apologize if this has been covered, but can someone elaborate the specific differences between aggressive linear vs. V1 vs V2. Is it more like one is preferred for 6MT then he other, or is it more related to throttle response.

Linear attempts to address the "on-off" feeling of the throttle early in the range. V1 and V2 were earlier versions of this designed for automatics and manuals, respectively.

With that being said, it really comes down to your driving style; some people love stock, others like linear. Personally, when at the track I use either v2 or linear (I have a manual) and on the street I use stock. The linear map helps me modulate the throttle more precisely for my driving style at the track.

I have to say, the linear maps are darn close to what the throttle feels like (smooth) without the tune. IMHO, Cobb pretty much nailed it.

just got car back from dealer:

intake ledges replaced
both vanos replaced
oil changed.

I'm scared to put cobb back in but the car feels so anemic without it.

yes you can.. It is easy. Just look up the spark plug DIY and you will see it allows the wire harness to interface with the spark plug. The spark plugs are sunk into the block.
