Keep an eye out on ebay. They sell a pair every couple of weeks. That's where I got mine. They sound great, but you will need to get a set of adapters to fit them in the OEM housings.

Thanks - I've been looking there but only 6" have been showing up lately.

How are you using yours? How many watts, what frequency are you sending them?

You're probably aware but they discontinued SSMB8s awhile ago. It's pretty rare to find them now.

Im still trying to find the optimal setup, Im sending 200 watts per side from bridged channels of a 600/6

recommendations are somewhere around 80-300hz

Will be curious to hear your results. I was gong to try about 100 watts, between 50-200hz.

So far I am content with them. I am also running a trunk sub which at present is overpowering the crap out of them. I don't know how good they sound in a properly tuned system. Technic has used them (may still be) and recommends them highly. There may also be other options out there with merit (Rainbow WOB200, Jehnert, etc) if you want a more musical driver. SWS8 if you want it to cover mid and sub bass.
