It is weird how is spins exhaust gases to muffle the exhaust so the faster gases move the quieter it gets. Sounds really good down low though.
Interesting. I want the exact opposite though. Want something that is relatively quiet at low rpm's and gets louder as speed builds. Of course I don't want any drone either. Please let me know when you find that setup. Maybe number 6 or 7. Lol.

Bavarian Exclusive was working on that setup you describe. It's basically a quad exhaust that closes at low PRM to keep the sound down, but at WOT it fully opens to get aggressive. I'll see if I can find the link to it. Or you could just get electric cutouts

**Edit - found that exhaust http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=423123

Essentially the idea behind that type of muffler is similar to the "Pro Chamber" muffler for mustangs/camaro's (not sure how familiar you are with them)?

"box muffler" with two inlets/outlets that let the gases build up and start spinning/doing their thing to "Muffle" the sound?

Yes that's what it does, they're are circular baffles with holes in them.

It sound sick when you rev it with the windows up it sounds like a turbine engine inside the car from the muffler.

Thanks for sharing this. That spintech setup is the best exhaust I have heard on an E92.

I want the low end burble but not the high pitched note up top. My catless DP setup with stock exhaust even has a high pitch sound higher up in the rev range which I would rather be without. I don't want to hack into the stock system though to add a couple of resonators. Might have to get a spare used stock system to play with.

I have heard this type of muffler on N/A larger cubed engines and they sound awesome.

As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. You may be the only one in the northern hemisphere with one right now but I may have to give spintech a call and see if they can send one downunder.
