help: what is this sound?

just noticed today every time i let off the gas i hear like an grinding/whistling sound, almost like the sound you would hear from brakes squeaking (im not dumb its the not the brakes lol). every time i press the brakes the sound goes away so that took brakes out of the equation . Its kinda loud too i can't hear it when the windows are up but you can definitely hear it when there down. Currently only have dp and jb4 as performance mods and the car only has 23xx miles. I swear this is my last 335 or bmw

If every time you press the brakes the sound goes away wouldn't you think it has something to do with the brakes?? Rotors, brake pads, calipers???

I had the same problem. It's the brakes... Something with the pads not shaped right. Dealer will change ll 4 brakes for free

jyust take the tune out and take it to the dealer. They're not going to look for downpipes when you're making a claim for brakes.

Sometimes rocks and dirt get caught up between the rotor shield and and will make this sound. Get a hose and hose the area where the noise is. Hopefully it might dislodge the fragment if there is one. Did you recently go through a newly paved blacktop?
