Oil change of my E90
Hey, I just bought a E90 330i and the car need a oil change now.
I am wondering can I just go to the normal oil change station (I am living in California) to change the oil for my car or I should go to BMW dealer to change it? Thanks for the stupid question as I don't know much about cars. |

Disagree about going to dealer, unless you have a coupon and resist having them fix anything else. Not everyone knows how to diy. My brother can't turn a wrnech. Best answer: OP, Find a reputable local mechanic that works on bmws. You probably can find one by posting in the forum section. Sidenote, OP, if you mention what kind of oil to use, i will find you and ________ you. Happy New Year!!!!

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Unless you know a good indy mechanic with BMW expertise, I'd take it to a dealer. A simple oil change should not cost much more tham $100 and will help you to establish a relationship for maintenance in the future.
