tail light question
i didnt have much time to search around but i didnt find much about replacing the tail light bulbs, so sorry if this has been covered over and over already. Just a quick question... I have a E92 328 - 07 and the "bars" of my passenger side tail light went out, i took the back off where all the bulbs are located but i dont know which one lights up those bars... (all the bulbs looked ok) Can someone tell me where the bulb is that lights those bars please? Thanks

Did you perhaps turn the lights on and then remove each bulb one at a time to see which one is burned out?
I don't know the answer, I just know that what I said makes sense.

haha yes that does make sense, I didnt get a chance to investigate really (I was on my lunch break and had just gotten back to work when I noticed it) But I've had it apart before and I cant tell which bulb would light those up. Just from looking at it it almost seems like the bars would be lit by little LED's that sit back in the housing somewhere, but I cant see any. Thanks for the common sense feedback though I'm going to do that when I leave work and see which one doesnt light up.
BTW i have non-LCI tails. |

AAAHHH please help
Ok I did some exploring back there and this is what i found out, someone PLEASE help!!
Passenger tail light - non lci (e92 coupe) Driving light/ brake light does not light up.( This is the bulb that if you are looking directly at the tail should be in the top left). I switched the bulbs from the other tail light and the top brake light still does not light up so i know its not the bulb. Has anyone had a problem before with a bad connection or something where the bulb plugs in? The LED Bars: These also do no light up (passenger side only). I found out that when you take out the back of the tail light it severs the connection that powers the bars ( so they wont light up when the back is off the taillight) Reguardless mine doesnt light up at all. Could this mean that the little metal tabs are not pressing against the posts that power the bars tightly enough? OR, could this simply mean that the 3 LEDs that light the bars are burnt out? (if thats the case, do i have to completely dismantle the tail light to get to these LEDs? because I see no way of accessing them from inside the trunk) I really need some help with this, even if someone could just tell me what their experience with changing bulbs usually is like so i can see if maybe i'm doing something wrong or is something is wrong with my tail light. |

Update: it's a problem with the side panel in my case. It's housing developed this issue. The part number in my case (left rear tail light top bar is not lighting) 63-21-7-174-403. Stealership has quoted $464.48 ($180.99 labor/$252.65 part). Any ideas where can we find it cheap??
