Keeping stock mic.

I bought a used 325i (2006) and am picking it up Friday, one of the first things I would like to do is install my z110bt DD from Pioneer, I know what harness I need and steering wheel controls etc. The question I did have was Im guessing the car has a built in mic, is that something i can use on my pioneer or would i be better off using the the mic that came with it.

Also I have noticed people moving their stereos to their trunk, is there any advantage to doing that besides the warning chimes for the seatbelt?

I did try searching also, but didnt see much about the oem mic.
