Any NY Golfers here?

A friend and I really want to play Bethpage Black this summer and was looking to see if anyone here wanted to play and get a tee time. I just registered into the automated phone system, but as a non-NY state resident, I can only make tee times 2 days in advance, whereas NY residents get to make 7 day advance tee times.

If anyone can help PM me please, I'd truly appreciate it. Weekends are preferred. And of course, food and drinks are on me (or greens fees if you prefer)

I have been trying to get a tee time at black for 4 years and I still can't get one.on a weekend before 3:00 good luck

You would be lucky to get one. Its tough we have been trying for a long time as well.

I always get to play the black but only on Thursdays. Your best bet is to make the sacrifice and get in line as early as 11pm the night before to assure yourself of a 7-8am tee time. BTW, if you also want to get a caddie, they are always available outside the ticket office. (not cheap though...it'll cost you about $90 with tip.)

This is your best bet since you're coming from MD. Be prepared to have a punishing round. It beats me up everytime I play it.

Pundits, in print and on television, oozed to the point of cliché about Oakmont needing barely a tweak from the USGA for this year's Open. Other than Bethpage's greens not rolling at the 15 they did during the 2002 Open and the rough -- probably against superintendent Craig Currier's preference -- not quite as deep, the public is playing a similar course to what the pros did.

Your best bet is to camp out in your car waiting online, its almost imposible to call and get a tee time.
