if you revert it back to stock, will the computer know you tampered with the car? intake is fairly easy to put in and out

No it won't, because BMW has to prove without a reasonable doubt that any malfunction was cause by the intake. With that being said, yes they will void your warranty if you bring it in with a problem, haha. For service checks I am sure they don't care (like my dealership) but if something goes wrong, take that sucker off before you go in!
