If I were to buy LED bulbs to replace a few on the exterior of the car, say front turn signals, if I code out the bulb check thing does that make them flash at a normal pace, or just avoid an error light?

Basically does coding out the bulb check make it work fine, or will I still need a resistor to avoid having them flash at ridiculous speeds?

You know they do make lights that work error free and without the hyperflash right? As far as I know the coding just gets rid of the error.

I guess that was my question. The ones I see advertised as error free canbus etc...is that exactly what they are? plug and play no error, no coding necessary?

I feel like I have only seen ones like that for the e92.

Do you sell Amber LED for the front turn signals of my e90 330i with adaptive xenons that I pop out old bulb and pop in new LED ones and they will just work with no error and no installing a resistor?

@Jeff-I've seen those bulbs a lot but I have a 2006 e90 (pre LCI) those ones do not fit my car or I would buy them.

I am trying to avoid having to wire tap any resistors in for no other reason other than I have done it before and hate the extra clutter.

jimmy - just wondering how this ended up working out for you by disabling the cold checks and regular LED turn signals? I plan on doing the same on my '06...

also what is the difference between cold checks and warm checks?

Cold is ignition on. Warm is while car is on later.

Bought the "can bus" bulbs from autolumination. They worked great out of the box, no errors on dash. Always good quality from them.

I was getting the strobe light effect when turning on the car (caused by trhe cold check) so I coded out both the cold check and warm check to eliminate that strobing.

If you don't mind the strobing then they work fine as is. I have the amber delete coded in so the whole housing appears clear until a turn signal is lit or four way flashers are on.

I also coded out the cold/warm check for my license plate bulbs which were "error free" bulbs as well, but did this to eliminate the strobing, which is the car sending a signal to the bulbs to check if theyre there.

Now, just to buy the bulbs. I PM'd one of the sponsors a few days back, they read it, but no response. I'll check autolumination, may be a better deal for me. (angel eyes, all turn signals, puddle-lights under the doors)

Honestly not to bash the vendors or take their business but I have never had a problem with AL. Everything always works and is top quality. The craftsmanship into each piece is above what you would buy at most retail outlets. Their website does not match the product haha.

One thing I would do differently is get a brighter one for my front ambers. I went with the 23 Led ones, and would like to have had them brighter. Maybe spend the extra cheese and get those 48 ones.

Which 6418's did you go with for your license plate lights? They have some that are 9 SMD's but I'm worried it may not fit in the license plate housing. My biggest worry is matching the stock light output (don't want it dimmer or brighter from how it should be). I may change the brake lights to LED's as well with those 'Matrix II' ones which should give a consistent light output (not just a spotlight in the middle).

Actually got raped by ECS Tuning and bought ZIZA license bulbs from them. I do really like them just paid way too much for what else is out there. Bright and color is great. Can't complain about them at all just the price.

The brake lights and rear turn signals will be my next purchase. I love how deep red they make it and instantly light up. If you do the tails before I do post up here some pics and which bulbs you went with.

Dont waist your time on the 23, just get the 7 watt LED. They are as bright as an HID.

The only two options I can see that are worthwhile are the canbus ones that are 44 leds and $16.99. Also there is the 60 led option for $19.99. Do we need the canbus model if we are coding out the bulb checks anyways?
