Another Fuel Pump Story

Well, my e92 335 is only 2 1/2 months/3000 miles old and it was already bitten by the fuel pump bug!

Over the last few weeks, I have noticed intermittent sputtering when I started my car. It didn't matter if the engine was warm or not. I spoke with my SA and he told me to drop it off whenever I could to have some tests run on it.

Well, I dropped it off today. They informed that there was a software upgrade that they were going to try first (which I read about on this website the other day). Well, they did the software upload and retested the car. It made it worse. So, it seems that the car is going to stay at the dealership until the fuel pump comes in, but only God knows when that will happen.

Its not all that bad, at least they gave me an e90 335 as a loaner!

Do you park your car outside or inside the garage? Just curious if this has anything to do with the HPP problem?

I park outside. I dont see how parking inside or outside would make a difference with the fuel pump.

It should not make a difference. However, there is currently no explanation on this HPP problem, other than saying it a "defective" part.

From my experience with old cars, there is a difference in the ability to start a car when parked inside vs. outside. The humidity/mositure usually causes long starts or inability to start on old cars.

That sucks. I hope they cover some of your costs while they have your car for who knows how many weeks while waiting for a new part.

Congrats, most people are waiting a few months just to get their car back. How is it running?

Damn, that's nice to hear. 31 days and counting for me. It's one of the suckiest feelings, especially when u see others out on the road enjoying their new rides.
