Hello all - New to BMW's - error 4521?

Hello all, the CEL came on (yellow) in our E92 320D yesterday, so put it in for diagnostics this morning. Most recent error being 4521 charge pressure... There was an older A217 but we havent looked in to that one yet.

Seems to be actuator (wastegate) /turbo related from what i've read so far.

Thoughts and comments on the above faults welcomed. Could it be related to anything else?

Thanks.

Not 100% sure but sounds like someone or something has been tinkering with the boost pressure perhaps?

Did you buy the car from a dealer or private? Now I am not 100% certain but these kind of codes may be pointing towards the fact that the car may have had a ECU remap or tuning box fitted by its past owner. These could just be codes thrown up on the dash post removal.

Thanks, i've since seen the report. Key part "needs actuator replace and connector rods" note is also made of assembly paste being required which if it does not come with the actuator kit will only come with a new turbo.

To answer your questions we got it from a small independent dealer. No idea if it had some bits done before we got it.

Morning, any more thoughts on the above? Seems a tad excessive to have to buy a new turbo if they don't get the assembly paste with an £11.50 actuator?

Thanks.

The part has arrived - it came with the paste.
