Engine died (50,742 miles)
So I drove my 328i automatic home tonight, no problem. About an hour later, went to grab dinner, and as I backed out of the driveway, the engine died. Seemed a little odd, but no warning lights, so I put it in park and tried to start it.
It tried to start, caught a couple times, but had a really low uneven idle, and then died again. Tried giving it a little extra gas, but no go. The starter will now go for about 6-8 seconds before I'll stop it. Right now I'm planning on calling the dealer in the morning, and then presumably arranging for a tow. Two questions: 1) Any easy suggestions or things I might check? 2) I'm assuming BMW will likely cover this, given how close to 50K I am? I bought extended maintenance, but of course didn't go for extended warranty. |

Fuel pump? Or you ran out of fuel. Sounds exactly like fuel starvation.
