Hey guys,

Not sure if anyone has heard of Endurance Auto Protection but I just purchased a plan yesterday for a 2007 335i w/ 73k miles. The cost was $2900 covers for 5 years 100k miles up to 174k miles. I went with these guys cause they covered:

-gaskets
-seals
-engine
-transmission & transfer case
-electrical
-a/c and heating
-cooling system
-fuel system
-drive axles

I think I listed it all, I went with them because my bro said they covered idrive. Which was hard to find someone who would cover headunit.

Any thoughts? Has anyone else dealt with other 3rd party warranties or found cheapers ones?

A buddy of mine got a third party warranty and ended up canceling it because they never wanted to cover any of his repairs. Can't remember name of the company though.

I hope it is an additional 100k miles or I would be pissed. Also, what about turbos? If you're gonna get a warranty for a turbo car, atleast get one that covers the turbos. And look into their mods policy. If your car breaks and you don't have time to take shit off they can void the warranty.

I also just picked up an extended warranty through Endurance yesterday for my 2007 328i with 62,000 miles. I ended up going with the Deluxe plan, which covers:

• Brakes (including ABS)
• Steering
• Suspension
• Cooling system
• Engine
• Transmission
• Drive Alex
• Seals
• Gaskets
• A/C & Heating
• Fuel Systems
• Electrical (including motors)
• Free Rental (5 Days)

• Travel Reimbursement ($300 max if more than 50 miles from home)
• Free towing to repair shop
• Covers hotel cost
• Covers food cost

They are an A-rated company and the repairs are paid up-front by Endurance, so I do not have to pay and wait for reimbursement. There is a $100 deductible per visit, not per repair. Also the policy can be transferred if the vehicle is sold or I can have the remainder of the policy pro-rated.

There is a 30 day & 1,000 mile waiting period before a claim can be made, basically to make sure that the engine/transmission isn't shot. The policy is for 4 years / 60,000 additional miles and cost $3321.00 with a 10% down payment and 18 additional monthly payments of $166.05

Anyhow, if anyone has questions I'd be happy to try and answer them. I don't have any of the paperwork yet, as they are sending it in the mail for my review. They do have a 30 day full refund guarantee if I decide to cancel. Also, if anyone has any thoughts or comments please share. I am still trying to make up my mind on this purchase.

I would only look at a warranty if it lists what is not included not what is covered unless you are a pro and know what is needed for a particular repair.

That's actually a very good point, thanks! I have only a few days left of my 30 day review period and am still on the fence. Last time I took the car in I was told that I need the following done.

• New Belt Tensioner ($455)- Mine is apparently slightly bent and they said the serpentine belt could eventually ride off.
• Passenger Mirror Motor ($425)- They stated it had a short of some sort.
• Fuel Vent Valve & Programming ($340 + $225) - This was what actually threw the SES light.

With the current Extended Warranty I have, I only have to wait 30 days and 1,000 miles before using it (mainly to ensure the engine isn't shot and the car is operational). I'm hoping that I can get them to cover most of the repairs with the warranty as I was quoted about $1,450 for parts/labor for the above work.

Are you sure they will cover that? The warranty periord probably STARTS after 30 days and 1,000 miles. If the shop invoice shows that the repairs were needed before, then they will deny coverage. Otherwise everyone would wait unti their car breaks, get quote,wait a month, then get it fixed! In the meantime you would drive around in another car.

I realize this... Thus I would need to get a second opinion from another shop (which isn't a bad idea in itself) and if they confirm the same issues have them complete the work. Unless the original shop will complete a new write up.
