just browsing through the bmw approved site and came across this 335d...

this is the exact 335 that went through one of BCA Auctions on Tuesday gone and must say it aint the best example!!

dont know what it went for (guide price was around the £12.5k mark) as never saw it person but the description wasnt great various marks, dents and scuffs.

it also had been stood in the auction yard since Semptember 2011 and only beend serviced twice in its 66k miles its covered of which the last one was at around 30k mark meaning not been serviced for over 30k miles!!!

also the last 2 services it has was not BMW!! and i believe it was a repossesion too!

will be interesting to see how BMW advertise it when images and a detailed description is available!!

I doubt it's a rare occurrence.

I've read a few without fully history and sourcing from auctions.

They got it up on the AUC site quick didn't they then?!

That style of private number plate always makes me think of a chavy owner who abuses the car... Hence the repo.

How did you know it was a repo?

A fair few cars that went through BCA were shit. Why they end up there lol. But I remember high mileage beemers with one or two services like 80k apart. I think Big Motoring World go to them.

Yes 100% certain it is the same car in auction.

In fact I got the print put for it with details about its condition report and it was graded 4 ( where 1 is immaculate and 5 is worst).

Probably at an approved body shop right now getting a brush over and then over to their service dept for a service and hey presto u got a pristine and a great example of a 335d!!!!!

Some AUC cars are dogs mate. When I was looking for the E91, I was scrounging the AUC site for months. As I do all my dealings through Jamie at Sycamore, I was looking for a car at one dealer, then going to get Jamie to buy it so that I could buy it from Sycamore. I know this seems daft as I inevitably pay more - two dealers making a cut, but the thing is, I know I can trust Sycamore. They're always willing to go the extra mile and for that reason I'll always go back. Anyway, I digress..

I identified a number of different cars while looking, all AUC from BMW main dealers. One had been clocked from 76k to 30k miles. One had no service history whatsoever. One needed about 3 grands worth of work to get it to a condition whe Sycamore would have been happy to warranty it and sell it with their name on the sticker! The clocked one particularly scared me.. How can a dealer sell a clocked car on the forecourt?! Sycamore seemed to reckon that they must do more checks than some dealers - you'd think a simple HPI would have thrown that kind of clocking up!!

To be fair, if the bodyshop does a good job of sorting out the paintwork & scuffs, then the boys give it a service, then 12 months warranty, it might not be that bad .

True though, I don't think I'd touch it with a barge-pole knowing the history, but if I didn't know then at least I'd take comfort in having a warranty on it (and getting the dealer to address any immediate issues).

I didn't think a dealer would touch a car without a full dealer history but I could be dreaming that.

I've bought a handful of cars blind (until they arrived on my driveway) from dealers but this sort of thing does make you think twice.

Seems expensive to me though. That plate could indicate the car originated in N.Ireland (my Zed has a similar one until it was re-registered in the UK).

That's shocking mate. When I was hunting for mine I saw a few that were described over the phone as in showroom condition. When I went to view them they had curbed alloys. The salesman did say they'd put them right though.

The plate is indeed a standard Northern Ireland plate but I imagine the owner was called Terry and he somehow felt that TLZ read Tels.

Plenty of auction cars ending up in AUC and after a spell in the body shop no-one knows any better generally.

the sale / customer agent at auction said when i rang them for further info prior to auction.

She said it was finance car that subsequently taken back by BMW, so i asked does that mean it got reposesed and she said yes.

funny thing is BMW took it back gave it to BCA back in September then give them the go ahead in February to auction it, at which, another bmw dealership bought it!!

wouldnt it be easier for dealers to pass it on to others direct...save hassle and auction fees... CRAZY!!!!

dont know what it went for as never went to the actual auction as it was a bmw open day and too many 'big fish' are there so no chance of a bargain! lol!
