Went to the track today...

Went to MIR for the first time today, Eurocharged had a private track rental. It was a beautiful day in the upper 50's. Lots of VERY fast cars there today, Benz's, GTR's, CTS-V's, Vette's, and radial drag cars running 4.5 seconds at 175 mph! There was even a diesel F250 with a stack running in the low 11's at 127 mph on a consistent basis-pretty awesome to watch. I've got some video of that I will post up later.

I found the track to be very slick. My Conti DWS are obvisouly NOT track worthy tires which was a problem. I could not brake boost at all without spinning out of control. I tried brake boosting anywhere from 2500 rpm down to 1800 RPM, feathering the accelerator with no luck. As soon as I released the brake and applied any kind of throttle I busted loose usually fish tailing or tracking sideways thanks to no LSD. Sadly my best time came when I just punched it in DS, no brake boost and even then I spun. I ran a 13.74 at 104 mph on that run w/60' time of 2.277 seconds. If I had drag radials it would have been a different story. Oh well, it was fun anyways. I will certainly be better prepared next time.

I will post up some video later once I figure out how to upload them from my new phone.

nice I like to see d's running! Stock or JBD'd?

I plan on using my drag radials off of my M3 and hit up the track this summer.

The only thing I've seen run a 4.5 in the quarter was at something more like 325mph and it was top fuel car.

All things considered that is a respectable time and speed. Were you running a tune at the time or is that stock?

I don't know unless they were being timed in the 8th. either way these were trailer towed drag cars with blowers and they were fast as shit.

I had the JBD set at 100%, rear seat out and like a 1.5 gallons of diesel in the tank, so I was light. After 5 runs I was worried I was going to run out of fuel, needle was almost on 0. Some pretty amazing street cars there and one ZR-1 running mid 10's.

That does sound like an 1/8th mile time for a decently quick dedicated drag car.

Did you get any wheel hop? My 335 used to wheel hop pretty bad on the RFTs and it's not like I could even drop the pressure to help with it.

Def had drags not sure if it was modded. Looked stock but that doesn't mean anything. There were a bunch of vettes there including a modded z06 with drags running low 11's.

nope no wheel hope, the track just felt extremely slick on my tires. They slipped as if I was driving in the rain. These tires connect SO much better on the street. I can launch it pretty it easy with minimal spin.

This sounds like fun. Maybe I can get my d out for a couple runs when it warms up.
