Pics of Car with New Wheels
Just had these 19's fitted this morning. Sorry about the picture quality, used the mobile phone camera & the car is pretty dirty due to all the rain recently.
Running continental sport contact 2's (only non-RFT in the sizes needed that had the same tread pattern front and back). Haggled with the stealership and ultimatly got a good price for the wheels only & they were kind enough to get the rubber for me at their cost via their normal tire people. Will be interesting to see what the difference is in grip compared to the RFT's fitted as standard. Also bought the mobility kit, insurance I guess against a flat! |

Went OEM as I liked them, did not have to worry about offsets etc and I figure OEM = better resale at the end of the day. Also they will most likely cover them under the cars warrenty (well the wheels anyway, not the tires as they are not RFT) in the even a problem occurs that isn't user related.
I was bit of a bastard and bounced several dealerships off one another so got a good discount from what was originally quoted. Wheels were $4050 from BMW Sydney and tires were about $2600 from Jax @ Bondi. |

Had a spirited drive home from the office, encompassing some back streets in Sorry Hills and then the Commenara Parkway and a detour on the way to Berowra via the old Pacific Hwy on the way to collect the kids from the outlaws. A quick belt back to Wahroonga on the F6 gave me some high speed fun as well (Porsche 911 kind of wanted to play). Those in Sydney's north will know these are lovely windy roads.
Must say the new tires (and I guess larger wheels) have made a +ve difference. I can now sink the go go peddle from a standstill and not have the traction control kick in. She still gets unsettled mid corner, esp with bumps, under acceleration but that is probably more associated with a lack of LSD & a very heavy right foot. I think the combination with PROceed when it arrives (still waiting Mr UPS!!!)will be very good. I now just need to convince the other half that a LSD is a NEED not a WANT. |

Congrats .... they look fantastic. Just as a mater of interest, how much did BMW hit you for a Mobility kit. I've seen versions by Michilin on Ebay for low $$$ but if the BMW one was under $200 I was going to buy that.

$120 from memory. Fits perfectly in the spot next to the first aid kit.
