I've got a little over 30k miles on my Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP and am thinking about switching to the Pilot Sport A/S Plus. Any thoughts about the switch? I'm looking at saving money by switching from Run Flats and better ride quality

Those tires look much better than my Bridgestone RE50A with about 18k miles.


A little off topic, but do you recommend these tires as a good run-flat option?

check out my post in a comparison between these and the Conti DWS. Both tires are excellent, quiet and comfortable, BUT the steering gets lighter and spongy when switching across (a characteristic I dislike to this day).

You will see more tread wear and a softer ride with this switch. The downsides will be a step down in steering response, dry grip, and handling/cornering.

I replaced Bridgestone RFT tires w/PS ZP and the difference is night and day - no comparison! PS2's are very quiet, steering is razor sharp and they are softer. Highly recommended. However, I am used to sport suspensions and prefer them over non-sport. If you are looking to soften your ride "significantly" you may want to go with the all-season tire but you will compromise handling.

In my opinion, the Michelin RFT were superior to the original Bridgestone RFT tire that came with the car. Below is a pic of my Bridgestones after 20k miles. I was driving (70 mph) down the Altamont Pass heading home when I thought I hit a pothole. The flat tire indicator was illuminated, so there was no question to what just happened to me

Thanks man. I have really enjoyed driving with the RE050A Bridgestones as far as the handling goes. They are just noisy though, definitely not getting them again.

I do have sports package and would prefer to keep similar handling.

Don't know how much you have already driven on the new tires, how many miles have you got on your PS2 ZP before they were toasted? Are they holding up well?

That is scary man, I have 18k miles on mine, and I think I'd better get a new set before this happens to me.

Already 30K on those PS2 is really cool. I was considering the All-weather Bridgestone 960AS RFT for better wear but seems like that is a non issue if I choose the PS2 ZP (provided I can find them in stock)
