Hi,

A strange thing happened when I participated at a drag racing event a few days ago (best 12.4s with 2.0 60ft and 118mph trap speed - full weight and half a tank of 94 octane fuel). When doing a burnout, something came out of my tailpipes, or maybe around them, I am not sure. The thing is that it just lasted for like 1 second, and then it suddenly disappeared.

Two things happened that could cause this: a guy used a bottle of water to pour water on my tires before the burnout, and also I have a habit to stab the throttle a few times before reaching the burnout area (in order to cool the intake charge), with methanol reaching full flow during this time. I have the HFS-4 meth set in on-off mode, with a very low triggering point, basically you can trigger it if you go wot while the car is standing still. So I am thinking that it can either be water from the tailpipes (I am using 60/40 mix) or water from the tires.

That is quite a bit of water coming from the exhuast... never seen that before.

You still got cats?
Water is a normal byproduct of the catalytic converter changing CO to CO2 especially if you've been idling for a while before the race.

It is water from the combustion.

Could be condensation.
If that much methanol went through the engine you'd hydrolock it

Yeah...that's what I'm thinking too. Just purging condensed water sitting in the muffler.

But I think he is running dual 1.2mm nozzles also?
