mp3 player digital/optical linking to radio head unit
Has anybody thought of connection the optical out from your mp3-player (iriver h140 has this) on the digital link going from the CD-Changer to the head unit ?
If I understand well the CD-changer is connected via a digital (optical fibre) link to the main system. Does anyone know if a digital input is available on the cd-changer ? Would it be possible to wire the mp3 digital out to the same input slot as the cd-changer ? This should result in the best possible data transfer, including no influence at all on the bass. |

BMW most probably uses a proprietary technology on their fibre link. I don't think they use the TOSlink standard that your MP3 player is using.
