Help Im visiting and my AC is out!

Hi,

I visiting the Baltimore/DC area and the blower for the AC just quit on me... I dont have to tell you how hot it is outside. My question is this. Do you all know if this is going to cost me a arm and a leg? And can anyone recommend a shop in the area that is fair in its pricing and does good work?

Thanks in advance!

Ollie

How do u know it's the blower and also it might be a leak in lines which leaked the freon out. Too early to diagnose that it's the blower

this happened to my girls 328xi, i took it to a shop and they wanted to replace all kinds of shit, and yes it would've costed alot. they wanted me to purchase parts they may not guarantee it to work until replacing everything they thought it was. they had the car for two days but since they didn't know exactly the issue i wasnt charged. i said f it took it home, went over it with ncs expert and seen the compressor was turned off, i believe the compresseor turns off when freon is out so its not damaged. saved me tons of money

Your gonna need to go to a shop so they can add freon with a dye kit. There is no way to see Freon without adding dye and putting it under a special light (black light). All you guys are doing is guessing, that will do nothing but waste time when you could be adding freon. Your compressor will not run with low freon , yes that is a fact. So no need for guessing. Adding freon with a dye kit will cost you an average of 1 hour and however much freon you will need, if you went thru my shop it will cost you about 110.00 based on only adding 1lbs of freon. So if you are in Northern Va. pm me. That all includes Vac. and recharge.
