Tyre Insurance

So my tyre pressure light came on yesterday. I pulled over to check the pressure, and had to put about 14PSI into my rear drivers side tyre. However, the light stayed on my dash unfortunately.

So, it sounds as though I may have a puncture. Therefore, does anyone know if you can take out tyre insurance retrospectively? Or did this need to be taken out when buying the car?

Bought my car from Williams Manchester in December if that makes any difference.

I am pretty sure you needed to take out the BMW tyre insurance when you bought the car.

Yep. As with any insurance mate, you have to have it beforehand. Otherwise why would anyone insure a car? Just take out a policy if you have a crash!

They aren't really worth it anyways.

Many have a maximum payout that doesn't cover expensive runflat tyres leaving you to pay the premium, excess and the shortfall.

Might want to check that its not a cracked wheel before changing the tyre.

I know it's cheeky, that's why I asked here first.

Need to take it in anyway, as the tyre pressure light is still on. And the tyres appear fine to my untrained eye.

I'm guessing if the light goes on, it stays on unless you reset it.

So: check the tyre pressure again and reset the light using the OBC.
