I ran these for a summer, great tire. I tracked 4 days with them and ran them for the summer. The rears were completely done 265/30/19, worn out on the inside. The handle well and are much quieter then run flats. For the money they are great.

I REALLY wanted these over the Hankooks I just bought. (S1 Evo)
Unfortunately, they are not offered in the Taiwan market.

What really attracted me to them is their weight. They are 21lbs for 19"...about 5lbs less than the Hankooks. (And most other times that I saw.)

This substantial reduction in unsprung weight is a good reason to try them! Grip and tire wear have also all been good reports.

The Hankooks are GREAT tires for the money...but if I had the choice, I'd have given these a try. They sound very good. (But if the price is pretty similar to the Michelin PSS, then I'd go for those every day of the week! More than $1000 more thought in this market, so I stayed with cheap but nice tires...Hankook!)

The Continental Extreme Contact DW should be a step up in handling and grip from the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO.

What size tire would you recommend in the Conti for 19x8.5 et 35 front and 19x9.5 et 35 wheels in the back. I've heard the tires appear more round and narrow, and I'd like to get the most aggressive look.

Thanks Gary

The latest Car & Driver has a comparison test of summer tires. And Tirerack has a comparison test on their web site (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=148). Strongly recommend you read these articles.

I've been running DW's for 2 years. Had RFT's and PS2's before that. My experience is consistent with these test results.

Pros:
- smooth
- quiet
- cheap
- low weight improves handling and performance (30 lbs total < RFT's)
- sticky

Cons:
- very soft when new
- not as responsive as RFT's or PS2's
- not as planted

When I first got them, I thought I made a mistake because I lost that beloved planted feel and the car felt squirmy at freeway speeds, which was probably exacerbated by the stock 32/32 pressures for my 328 e90 with ZSP. Most E9x models have a 4 PSI difference between the front and rear. I increased the pressure a few pounds and that helped. After a few thousand miles they felt much better and now they feel good.

Our cars with ZSP and RFT's ride rough on anything but smooth surfaces. Moving to PS2's improved the ride but it was accompanied by a loss of steering response but better road holding. Moving to DW's helped the ride a lot but it was accompanied by a significant loss of responsiveness that improves as the miles accumulate.

If Michelin made the PSS's in my sizes, I'd probably get them next. So next time I need tires, I'm going to have a rough time deciding between the DW's, Bridgestone S04's and possibly using PSS'2 245/40/17's in the rear instead of stock 255/40/17's.

DW's are great tires, you really can't go wrong with these. However they have a slightly higher rating compared to the v12's based off tirerack.

I switched to these tires a few months ago and will NEVER go back to RFT, NRFT vs. RFT is like day and night plus these tires handle turns great, I haven't even even had them brake lose around a tight turn.
