Hmmm but the M3 is so slow. Why would you want that? Loads more insurance costs, drinks fuel like Rooney swallows beer...

Ok, I've fitted black grills and removed the front window tints and I actually think I can love this car now, looks a lot better...just needs lowering and some different wheels. The thing is this car is loaded to the eyeballs, low mileage and I'd struggle to find a good 335i with the same spec at a reasonable price I think. It won't stop me looking though, I fancy a white or grey E92 and I can afford to wait/be picky right now.

In a way I think I prefer the aggressive (uglier) look of the 135i at the front, very menacing but overall the 335i is the better looking car.

I need to take some, I have none since purchase, plain laziness on my par . She's coming out of the garage on Friday for a clean so I'll snap some then.

If the front end is not to your liking (it wasn't to mine either) then buy the BMW Performance front bumper (which is what I did.)

My 135i was featured in Total BMW and the pics are in the PDF in post 1 of this thread:

Might be more what you're after.

The thing is, M-Sport bumper vs Performance bumper, I prefer Performance however, I think I prefer the M-Sport bumper with a decent lip better than the Performance option so this may be the way to go. Something like Slek (Price tag!!) or Kersher look like what I'm after.

Impressive dyno HP number (405bhp) for a JB3 and cones, where was that done? I've toyed with uprated DV's before, on the 335i, but not many people change them, are they really worth while? In previous VAGs they were the first mod as the standard Bosch one couldn't handle high boost for long.

Still keeping an eye out for a 335i but we'll see how this little car grows on me. I even considered getting an E46 M3 but then again that's probably less financially sensible in the long run.

Hi mate.

Check out this write up - I've just fit DV's to my 335i. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...journal&page=5

Personally, I think if you plan to run any more than just a basic JB4 (and even if you do really) then DV's are an absolute must have. You may recall I also had a high powered VAG and mine had the Revision D DV fitted, which was quite sufficient.

If you think the standard VAG DV is poor, then the BMW ones won't exactly impress either. You can see the difference in my write up above, but it certainly came as no surprise to me when it transformed the way both 135i and 335i perform (ed.)

Should you fit some DV's? For £200? Yes, without a doubt.

As for the 405bhp figure, that was made up by the magazine. If you had met me, you will realise I never say anything quickly or to the point. When speaking to the woman from Total BMW, I made the mistake of saying something like 'the JB3 can produce anything between 360 and 450 bhp when combined with other mods.' She needs a headline figure to shift magazines, so there you go.

I guess the front bumper is (and always will be) a subjective matter. I obviously made my choice and was happy with it, but I just thought it was worth mentioning as it seemed to be an issue you were having!

Anyway enjoy, I did rate my 135i highly, but I do rate the 335i as a better all round car. It's marginally less sporty I would say, but in actual fact I maintain that the balance of the E92 (not the E90) is better than the E82.

Regards
Matt

Thanks for the info. I'll look into the DV's and a better intake although from the Youtube clips I've heard of the DCI's, I don't think that the whooshy-tshhh sound suits the BMW so perhaps just a better panel filter.

Anyway, here's a few new pics of the car in question. Growing on me...

Lovely car indeed. Ive a very keenly priced 335i sitting here for you though to scratch the itch.

All optional extras for that model/year, low miles at 36,400 and FSH. No modifications.

Ive also a full set of Black plastic door cards that can go with the car for no extra charge, if you fancy toning down the interior.

Id take £14,500ono for a quick sale on it. Bargain if you ask me.

Chris
